There are several ways to write about soccer in a sports book, and this one is perhaps the most important.
For some of the best-selling sports books of the past year, there have been multiple contributors who have written on multiple topics at once.
There are writers who specialize in soccer coverage (Michael Bradley, David Beckham, Michael Farfan, Eric Wynalda) and others who specialize more in covering a variety of sports (Scott Boras, Jeff Carlisle, Greg Vanney).
In the end, it all comes down to the person.
The Sporting News’ Michael Bissinger wrote about MLS’ players on Monday, and he covers the league’s top stars in great detail, from their rise and fall to their impact on the league and the game.
But what makes Bissinger’s work truly special is that he has never covered a single game.
In fact, he has covered the entire season on three separate occasions.
“I’m not a writer,” he said.
“You want to know how many times I’ve covered a game?
There have been two, and they were just fantastic.
I just don’t know how to do it.”
Bissinginger, who has written for the Sporting News for six years, is a former editor of the Sporting Digest.
He said that it was the publication’s editor, Rob Moseley, who first suggested he write about the game’s best players.
The article he wrote for the 2013-14 season was titled “A Year of Hope and Glory: The Story of the Philadelphia Union,” and it followed the club’s remarkable run.
“There were moments when I had the most fun writing about a team that didn’t even exist,” he recalled.
“When you get a chance to write, I think, it’s like a dream come true.”
As Bissingser continued to work on the piece, he was approached by MLS Commissioner Don Garber.
“He said, ‘Look, I want to talk to you about the sport.
You can’t cover soccer because you don’t have a writer,'” Bissingers said.
Bissringers, who was originally a football writer for the San Jose Mercury News, said he quickly got the message.
“They wanted me to do this,” he explained.
“And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I know.
I’m a football guy, so I’ll do this.’
So I did.”
He then spent six months interviewing players, analyzing their careers, and putting together a profile of the Union.
He even worked on a script about the club, but he decided that he wanted to do more.
“We did that story in four weeks, which is unheard of in sports journalism,” Bissering said.
As the series went on, the piece became more than just a profile, it became something else entirely.
The goal was to put together a complete, professional piece about a single team, and it worked.
“The way I did it was really different than a lot of sports writers,” Bissonings said.
It’s the type of thing that is very easy to do, but the hard part is that you have to really dig deep to figure out what that means.
He wrote about a different team than other sports writers, because he had an idea about what the Union were and what they stood for.
“My goal was really to write this story and not just a cover story,” he added.
“That was the most challenging part for me.
To write this really comprehensive, detailed, and thoughtful piece.”
Bissoninger said he hopes that the piece will help fans understand the Union’s history and understand what it means for the league to have its best players on the field together.
“A lot of people just want to see the best player, and that’s great,” he noted.
“But the truth is that the best players aren’t the best team.
They’re the best guys.”
In addition to the soccer coverage, Bissers also covers the economics of the sport, including the economics and business of soccer in general.
“Soccer is about economics,” he continued.
“For a lot people, it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but for a lot others, it is.
For a lot players, it isn’t something they want to think about, but it is something that is important to them.
The thing is, they are paying attention.
They are buying tickets, watching the games, watching TV.”
And Bissinge also talked about the importance of making sure the soccer community knows about the economic benefits that the league enjoys.
“It’s not just about the revenue, it also is about the jobs that are created,” he told me.
“If you are paying players to play, then you have a lot more money in the bank.
It also means that the players are getting paid on the back of the game.”
Biznart, the team’s assistant general manager, said that soccer players are a big part of the community.
